In alignment with the international efforts to celebrate the cybersecurity awareness month (October), Saudi CERT has launched the #CyberSecMonth, which aims to encourage individuals, entities, NGOs, and civil society organizations to raise cybersecurity awareness and apply the best security practices. The campaign’s topics can be summarized in an introduction to cybersecurity, hackers’ methods in phishing and social engineering, how to secure devices and programs, and finally Wi-Fi networks security.
Saudi CERT’s goal objective for activating the awareness month:
-Launching awareness campaigns with different topics depending on the target audience.
-Presenting lectures, and activating the role of Saudi CERT’s online platforms.
-Keeping pace with the international cybersecurity awareness events.
-Motivating entities in the public and private sectors to participate and engage with Saudi CERT’s activities.
It is worth mentioning that Saudi CERT is working to reinforce the Kingdom’s efforts in raising cybersecurity awareness for individuals, the public sector and national entities alike. Saudi CERT issues regular security warning and alerts to protect individuals and entities and preserve the national cybersecurity. Additionally, Saudi CERT aims to build national and international partnerships and collaborations, and learn the best practices in the cybersecurity awareness field to activate educational programs, which speak to all the various levels, in addition to the best practices to deal with security vulnerabilities.
