Women in the Cyber World

As a Mother

  • Enable the parental control features on your children’s devices
  • Speak to your children about the correct technical practices and the truth about what they might encounter on the internet
  • Raise your children’s awareness of how reporting any problems they may face on the internet is very important

As a teacher

  • Encourage your students to be careful when using technology
  • Explain the importance of privacy on the internet, and methods to secure social media platforms to your students
  • Speak about cyber bullying and its risks, and advise them on the importance of reporting cyber crime.

As a Student

  • Never share the passwords for your devices and email accounts
  • Avoid clicking links or downloading attachments from unknown sources
  • Check the authenticity of the websites you visit in order to conduct research, do homework, or attend lectures.

As an Employee and an Entrepreneur

  • Avoid using your personal account for work related correspondence
  • Encrypt sensitive data and important files
  • Protect your data through back-up
  • Ensure logging out of accounts and e-services after using them.
