Description:

Google has released security update to address multiple vulnerabilities in Chrome browser for Windows, Mac, Linux and iOS.

Threats:

Attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by executing arbitrary code.

Best practice and Recommendations:

The CERT team encourages users to review Google security advisory and apply the necessary updates:

Chrome browser for Windows, Mac and Linux is recommended to update it to version 83.0.4103.97.

* The browser supports automatic updating to the latest available version.

Update Instructions:

  1. Open Chrome. At the top right, click More » Help » About Google Chrome. The current version number is the series of numbers beneath the "Google Chrome" heading. Chrome will check for updates when you're on this page. Click Relaunch to apply any available update.
  2. Click Restart.

Chrome browser for iOS is recommended to update it to version 83.0.4103.88.

Update Instructions:

  1. Open the App Store, at the top right, tap Profile .
  2. Scroll down to "Available Updates," and search for Chrome. If Chrome is listed, tap Update to install.
