Description:

Cisco has released security update to address a vulnerability in the following product:

  • Cisco Webex Meetings Suite sites and Cisco Webex Meetings Online sites
    • Releases earlier than 39.11.5 and 40.1.3

Threats:

Remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by joining a password-protected meeting without providing the meeting password.

Best practice and Recommendations:

No user interaction is required for updating, according to Cisco. However, users can check that their Cisco Webex platform is up to date (39.11.5 or 40.1.3) by:

  1. Logging in to the Cisco Webex Meetings Suite site or Cisco Webex Meetings Online site and navigating to Downloads on the left side of the page.
  2. Next to Version Information, hover over the circled i.
  3. Check the value displayed next to Page version.
