Sensormatic Electronics -a subsidiary of Johnson Controls- has released a security update to address a vulnerability in the following product:

  • Sensormatic Electronics Illustra camera systems
    • Pro Gen 3, All versions prior to 2.8.0
    • Flex Gen 2, All versions prior to 1.9.4
    • Pro 2, All versions
    • Insight, All versions prior to 1.4.0r

Threats:

Attacker could exploit this vulnerability by obtaining unintended super user access to the underlying Linux operating system.
