Zoom has released security update to address vulnerabilities in their meeting application, Zoom

Threats:

  • UNC links issue that would allow the attacker leak a user’s hashed password
  • Unauthorized access to chat by some users

The CERT team encourages users to review Zoom security advisory and apply the necessary updates:

Update instructions:

  1. Sign in to Zoom desktop client
  2. Click your profile picture then click Check for Updates
  3. If there is a newer version, Zoom will download and install it.
