Description:

WhatsApp has released a security update to address several vulnerabilities in the following products:

  • WhatsApp for iOS prior to v2.20.111
  • WhatsApp Business for iOS prior to v2.20.111

Threats:

Attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by doing the following:

  • Execute arbitrary code
  • Memory corruption
  • Improper authorization of the Screen Lock feature, which could have permitted use of Siri to interact with the WhatsApp application even after the phone was locked
